BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Jan. 21, 2014) - On Tuesday morning, Director of Athletics and Recreation
Bryan Collins (Sayville, N.Y.) tabbed
Tom Kane (Stony Brook, N.Y.) to lead the newly-formed LIU Post women's golf program, starting in 2014-15.
Kane comes over from Smithtown West High School, where he has guided its girls' varsity golf team since 2006. He also coached the boys' squad from 1974-2003. Between those two appointments, Kane led the Bulls to six Suffolk County titles and a Long Island Championship.

"As we move forward with our women's golf program, we are thrilled to have
Tom Kane on board," stated Collins. "He is an established and reputable coach who has had great success coaching the sport at the high school level on Long Island. He has great connections with the top golf schools that we would be recruiting from."
Kane, who resides in Stony Brook, N.Y., graduated with a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Duke University in 1970. He later got a master's in Liberal Studies from Stony Brook University in 1976.
