STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (Dec. 9, 2016) - The LIU Post men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed Friday at the Seahawk Shootout, hosted by Wagner College at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island.
Freshman
Jeffrey Reyes (Bay Shore, N.Y.) led the men's side with a third-place showing (2:33.20) in the 1,000-meter run.
Red-shirt junior
Kyle Ward (Elizabeth, N.J.) won his heat and placed fifth in the 300-meter dash (35.65). Sophomore
Jermaine Ifill (Flushing, N.Y.) finished eighth in the 300-dash with a personal-best 36.01.
Red-shirt sophomore
Kasim Thomas (Bronx, N.Y.) came in third in his heat in the 300-dash, clocking a 36.78. Red-shirt junior
Ramel Joseph (Jamaica, N.Y.) added a personal-record 36.32 in the same event.
Junior
Ryan Gioe (Huntington Station, N.Y.) and freshman
Will Coelho (Shirley, N.Y.) each won their respective sections. Gioe crossed in 12th (9:27.35) in the 3,000-meter run, while Coelho was 14th (1:28.47) in the 600-meter run.
In the triple jump, freshman
Twary McKenzie (Huntington, N.Y.) finished fifth, after a leap of 12.60 meters (41 feet, 4.25 inches).
For the women, junior
Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.) clocked a second-place time of 5:07.48 in the mile run. Graduate
Elizabeth Stirling (Wantagh, N.Y.) followed in sixth at 5:21.70.
Freshman
Alexandria Okon (Laurel, Md.) won her section and took sixth in the 600-meter run (1:42.00). Fellow freshman
Nicolette Agostinacchio (Wantagh, N.Y.) sprinted to an eighth-place finish (1:43.10) in the 600.
Freshman
Kaitlyn Klein (Richmondville, N.Y.) was fourth in the shot put with a heave of 11.72 meters (38 feet, 5.5 inches). Freshman
Nicole Costanzo (Nesconset, N.Y.) earned a fifth-place showing in the high jump, after eclipsing a height of 1.45 meters (4 feet, 9 inches).
In the weight throw, junior
Kari Kyrkjeboe Fredheim (Nannestad, Norway) had a personal-best throw of 7.88 meters (25 feet, 10.25 inches).
Freshman
Erykah Camal (Elmont, N.Y.) placed second in her heats in the 60- (8.52) and 300-meter dash (47.39). Seniors
Sara Stebbings (Lillehammer, Norway) and
Chloe Margulis (Port Washington, N.Y.) individually clocked times of 47.03 and 47.88 in the 300-dash.

Kevin Buckley and the Pioneers return to action on Friday, Jan. 6, when they run at the Wagner Invitational at 2 p.m. at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island.
