CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (May 9, 2016) - On Monday, LIU Post baseball freshman third baseman Jimmy Mendyk (Massapequa, N.Y.) was tabbed as the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week.

Mendyk went 7-for-14 in four ECC games last week, as the Pioneers wrapped up the regular season with a sweep of Mercy College.

The freshman had at least two hits in three of the four games against Mercy and brought his average up to .294.
