EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. (Sept. 12, 2016) - Senior forward/midfielder Melissa Quintanilla (Rome, N.Y.) scored the game's only goal just 1:50 into the second half Monday afternoon to lift the LIU Post field hockey team to a 1-0 upset of top-ranked East Stroudsburg University at Whitenight Field.

In the 37th minute, Quintanilla, who took the penalty corner for the Pioneers (3-0), subsequently re-directed a Steph Mocerino (Andover, N.J.) shot into the left side of the cage for the eventual game-winner.

Despite being outshot 16-3 in the contest, LIU Post had to stave off only four shots on goal, all of which came in the second half.

Senior goalie Ericka Parks (Nesconset, N.Y.) made four saves to earn her second shutout of the year for the visitors.

Head Coach Raenee Savin and the Pioneers return to action Saturday (Sept. 17), when they open Northeast-10 Conference play in North Andover, Mass. at Merrimack College at noon.
