Wrestling Overpowers Wilkes University at Grapple at the Garden, 38-3

New York, NY| On Sunday, the LIU Post swept the weekend earning an impressive 38-3 over Wilkes University at the sixth-annual Grapple at the Garden at Madison Square Garden.

Nicholas Conetta took the first match at 125 with a 7-3 victory, before Wilkes answered back with an 8-3 decision. No. 4 Anthony Sparacio and No. 10 Joseph Calderone earned wins via falls at the 141- and 149-lbs. weight class.

At 157, T.J. Fabian earned a major decision win  11-1 over Michael Brown.  Jackson Mordente (165-lbs.), Dan Arkow (174-lbs.) and Dan McClure (184-lbs.) all picked up victories via decisions to go up 26-3.

Robert Pearse forced a fall in the 197 weight class, which was followed by Damien Caffrey's fall to complete the 38-3 victory.

The LIU Post wrestling team will take its three-match win streak to Kutztown, Pa where they will take on Kutztown University on Sat., Dec. 16 at 7 PM.
