BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Mar. 13, 2017) - Following a split of a home-and-home series with Pace, the LIU Post baseball team stayed at No. 2 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division II East Region Poll on Monday.

The Pioneers, who earned 81 points in the voting, were one of just three teams from the East Coast Conference to be ranked in the tally.

St. Thomas Aquinas (59 points) was slotted at No. 3 in the poll, while Bridgeport (8 points) rounded out the ledger at No. 10.

Through 10 games, the green and gold have six everyday players batting .300 or higher. Junior outfielder Rob Andreoli (North Wantagh, N.Y.) and sophomore catcher Anthony Vaglica (Franklin Square, N.Y.) both lead the way with a .400 average and a conference-best-tying 15 RBIs.

On the mound, freshman pitcher Noah Lorenzo (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) sports a 3-0 record with a 2.86 earned-run average. He currently leads the ECC in wins and places second amongst freshmen in the league in ERA.

Head Coach Mike Gaffney and his LIU Post squad return to action Saturday (Mar. 18), when they host Le Moyne College in the first of back-to-back doubleheaders at the LIU Post Baseball Field in Brookville, N.Y. First pitch is set for noon.
