BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Apr. 26, 2017) - On Tuesday, LIU Post junior outfielder Rob Andreoli (North Wantagh, N.Y.) was selected as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association East Region Player of the Week.

Andreoli, who was named the East Coast Conference Player of the Week on Monday, had a stellar .640 average and a team-leading nine RBIs in a six-game stretch for the Pioneers.

He led off the week last Monday (Apr. 17) with an outstanding 5-for-5 day in a 10-2 rout of Queens. It was the first five-hit game for an LIU Post player since Kyle Walker accomplished the feat in 2009.

Andreoli also contributed the game-tying two-run single against Bridgeport last Wednesday (Apr. 19) and went a combined 6-for-11 with six RBIs in a three-game weekend series with Southern Connecticut.

Andreoli and the Pioneers return to action Friday (Apr. 28), when they travel to Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. to face ECC rival Mercy College. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
