PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (May 19, 2017) - The LIU Post baseball team had three players recognized to the 2017 Division 2 Conference Commissioner's Association All-East Region Team on Thursday.

Junior outfielder Rob Andreoli (North Wantagh, N.Y.) and senior pitcher Dan Jagiello (West Islip, N.Y.) led the way with first-team honors, while fellow senior hurler Jake DeCarli (Higganum, Conn.) earned a nod as a second-team selection.

Andreoli, who was named the East Coast Conference Player of the Year, currently leads the team and ranks third in the ECC in hitting with a .358 average. He has also driven in a league-leading 44 runs, while ranking in the Top-10 in the conference in seven other statistical categories.

Additionally. Andreoli has recorded 21 multi-hit games this season, including a 5-for-5 performance in a 10-2 win over Queens on Apr. 17.

Jagiello has taken on the role of closer this year and locked down a program-record 11 saves, breaking former record-holder Anthony Rinaldi's mark of 8 in 2007.

He has yielded no more than one earned run in any of his 17 appearances and struck out multiple batters in 12 of his 13 save opportunities, en route to garnering All-ECC first-team distinction.

DeCarli, an All-ECC first-team performer in 2017, has made 13 starts on the hill for the Pioneers, compiling a league-best-tying 9-1 record. His nine victories have tied him with former standouts Jim McCauley (1987) and Jeff Albert (1976) for the team's single-season mark.

Furthermore, DeCarli has an impressive 2.22 earned-run average and 78 strikeouts to his credit this season and limited opposing hitters to a stingy .238 batting average against.
