STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. –
The LIU Post men's & women's indoor track & field teams opened their season Saturday at the Fastrack Season Opener inside the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. The Pioneers earned four top-eight finishes and had five members of the team produce personal-best marks competing against a field of primarily NCAA Division I opponents.
 
Top performers on the men's side included freshman Ismail Abdullah finished who finished second in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.40 and sophomore Destyn Harding who took fourth in the 60-meter dash after crossing the line in 7.05.
 
LIU Post also won two heats with freshman Andrew Ayroso in the 60-meter dash and sophomore Michael Krebs (53.7), junior Jeffrey Reyes (53.4) sophomore Troy Benson (53.7) and Harding (52) in the 4x400-meter relay clocking in at 3:33.89 seconds.

Benson also had a person-best in the 400-meter run with a time of 54.37.
 
On the women's side junior Alexandria Okon clocked in at 2:21.68 seconds in the 800-meter run to finish third and freshman Margaret McKeever earned a sixth-place finish in the mile with a time of 5:31.40 seconds.
 
A pair of Pioneer women advanced to the final of the weight throw, freshman Imoniri Aghomon and junior Kaitlyn Klein. Aghomon produced a mark of 13.87 meters and Klein 13.49 meters.
 
Sophomore Helena Young had two personal-best times as she won her heat of the 200-meter run with a time of 29.99 and also clocked in at 9.04 in the 60-meter dash. Sophomore Kayra Theodore posted a mark of 10.16 meters in the triple jump, Kelly Holownia after a mark of 10.34 meters and freshman Nicole Costanzo after clearing 1.45 meters in the high jump.
