BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The LIU Post baseball team maintained its No. 6 ranking in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association East Region Poll as announced by the organization this week.
 
The Pioneers split a four-game series with Mercy College last week, taking the first two games before dropping the final two contests. The Green and Gold racked up 16 hits in the series opener as junior pitcher James Varela improved to 9-0 on the season.
 
A non-conference matchup with East Stroudsburg University was cancelled due to forecasted rain in Eastern Pennsylvania this week. LIU Post will now return to action at home on Friday, April 27 in the series opener against Molloy College at 3:30 p.m.
