NCBWA RELEASE
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – After three-straight wins over East Coast Conference (ECC) foe Saint Thomas Aquinas College last week the LIU Post baseball team kept its No. 5 ranking in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region poll, as announced by the organization Monday morning.
The Pioneers garnered 57 points to hold on to their No. 5 ranking.
LIU Post first defeated the Spartans 25-5 at the LIU Post Baseball Stadium on Friday March 29 then earning a doubleheader sweep on Saturday, March 30 at Palisades Credit Union Stadium in Sparkill, New York. LIU Post prevailed 11-6 in game one and 9-4 in game two.
The Pioneer offense was red-hot last week as it tallied 45 runs, 46 hits, 36 RBI, 16 doubles and four home runs.
