NCBWA RELEASE
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The LIU Post baseball team maintained its No. 4 ranking in the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA) East Region poll, as announced by the organization Monday morning.
The Pioneers garnered 60 points to maintain its No. 4 ranking and went 2-2 last week.
LIU Post dropped a midweek contest 12-7 to East Stroudsburg University on Wednesday, April 20 at the LIU Post Baseball Stadium but bounced back with a 2-1 victory over the University of Bridgeport on Friday, April 12 at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Due to inclement weather, the Pioneers were forced to a play a doubleheader against the Purple Knights at Seaside Park on Sunday, April 14. LIU Post fell 1-0 in the first game then bounced back to win the second, 17-2. The Pioneer offense erupted for an incredible 13 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
