Men's Basketball Pushes Past St. Thomas Aquinas, 96-66
SPARKHILL, N.Y. (Feb. 4, 2009) - Five Pioneers scored in double figures, as the second-ranked Pioneers defeated St. Thomas Aquinas, 96-66, in men's basketball East Coast Conference action on Wednesday evening.
C.W. Post remains undefeated with a 17-0 overall record and 11-0 conference record. St. Thomas Aquinas slips to 7-12 and 5-6 in ECC play.
Nick Carter's 23 points paced the Pioneers, who also recieved double figures from Jonathan Schmidt with 15 points and nine assists, Kenny Burkes with 14 points, Kevin Spann with 13 points, and James Tchana with 12 points and nine rebounds.
The Pioneers shot 64% from the field (37-for-58) and 62% (13-21) from three-point range. They held a 31-21 advantage on the glass.
St. Thomas Aquinas was led by Ra'Shad James with 17 points and Chris Williams with 11 points.
C.W. Post will host Mercy College on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 3:30 p.m.
