PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Apr. 10, 2016) - On Saturday, the LIU Post men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed amongst Division I programs at the Metropolitan Championships, hosted at the Bauer Track and Field Complex at Rutgers University.
The men, who placed ninth out of 12 squads, got a pair of fifth-place finishes from junior 
Stefan Adams (Jamaica, N.Y.) and red-shirt sophomore 
Kyle Ward (Elizabeth, N.J.).
In the 400-meter dash, Adams ran to a time of 50.94. Meanwhile, Ward crossed at 23.55 in the 200-meter dash. Red-shirt freshman 
Kasim Thomas (Bronx, N.Y.) added a seventh-place showing (23.85) in the 200-dash.
Thomas and Ward also teamed up with red-shirt junior 
Wayne Harris (Jamaica, N.Y.) and red-shirt sophomore 
Ramel Joseph (Jamaica, N.Y.) to post a fourth-place mark of 43.81 in the 4 x 100-meter relay.
In the 5,000-meter run, red-shirt junior 
Mike Scott (Fultonville, N.Y.) came in 10th place, clocking a 15:42.26.
For the women, sophomore 
Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.) was 14th (4:58.53) in the 1,500-meter run. Senior 
Elizabeth Stirling (Wantagh, N.Y.) contributed a 19th-place time of 5:05.19 in the same event.
The Pioneers are back in action next Sunday (Apr. 17), when they run at the Omeltchenko Invitational at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point at 10 a.m.
