SPARKS, Md. (Jun. 8, 2016) - The LIU Post men's lacrosse team has recently been listed at No. 8 in the Lacrosse Magazine Early Top-10 Division II rankings for 2017.

The Pioneers, who boasted a 12-4 overall record and a 7-1 mark in East Coast Conference play in 2016, are coming off a fourth-straight ECC title and NCAA Tournament appearance.

Though LIU Post has graduated its five leading scorers, Head Coach John Jez will return all three of his starting defensemen, two of whom (Joey Denaro, Shane Sweeney) received All-ECC nods.

The Pioneers also welcome back All-ECC goaltender Matthew Liantonio and faceoff specialist Anthony Galeotafiore for their senior campaigns.

Reigning national champion Le Moyne College topped the poll. Limestone College, Merrimack College, University of Tampa and Mercyhurst University rounded out the Top-5.
