WEST BABYLON, N.Y. – Following two impressive victories over the weekend, the LIU Post men's and women's lacrosse teams had a trio of student-athletes honored by the East Coast Conference as weekly award recipients as announced on Monday, Feb. 25.

Bryan Ochs and women's lacrosse freshman
Hailey Duchnowski earned Defensive Player of the Week, while men's lacrosse freshman attacker
Jake Gillis earned his second-consecutive Rookie of the Week accolade to begin his career.
Ochs had a career day against No. 11/14 Saint Anselm, stopping 18 shots, the most in a single game in his two seasons as the primary goalkeeper. Ochs notched a .643 save percentage on the day and earned his second victory of the season in goal. Gillis was impressive on the opposite end of the field for the second-straight game, scoring four goals and adding one assist for five points. Gillis converted four of his five shot attempts for goals for an .800 shooting percentage.
During a 7-2 victory against No. 16/20 Merrimack College, Duchnowski was a brick wall between the pipes, making 12 saves for an outstanding .857 save percentage in her collegiate debut. Along with the 12 saves, Duchnowski added a team-best five ground balls and one caused turnover.
The LIU Post women's lacrosse team returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 3:00 p.m. when it hosts Southern Connecticut State University. The men's squad hosts No. 12/11 Pace University on Saturday, March 2 at 1:00 p.m.
