Farrell, Snelders Named to USILA Div. II National Team of the Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Senior Connor Farrell and sophomore William Snelders played major roles in LIU Post's conquest of No. 1 Merrimack College on Saturday, and the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association recognized both individuals as members of the National Team of the Week for week five of the regular season on Tuesday, March 12.

During the victory against the defending national champions, Farrell had a record-setting day, shattering two NCAA Division II records inside the circle. Farrell finished 34-of-37 on faceoffs, snapping the previous record of 31 faceoffs won by Davis & Elkins College's Kyle Durec on in 2017. Farrell collected 30 ground balls on his 34 victories, shattering the previous record of 27 ground balls by Pfeiffer University's Cody Lamond, also in 2017. Both marks are an NCAA-best across all three divisions this season.

Snelders added a spark offensively, scoring five total goals on the day. At the end of regulation, Snelders created space and score the tying goal during the final minute to force overtime and later found the back of the net during the overtime period to give LIU Post the victory.

The Pioneers return to action tomorrow when they open East Coast Conference play against Saint Thomas Aquinas College at 4:00 p.m.
