Men's Lacrosse Remains Inside the Top-10 Nationally Despite Setback

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – After suffering its first setback of the season to No. 12/11 Pace University on Saturday, March 2, the LIU Post men's lacrosse team remained ranked in the top-10 nationally as revealed during the national poll announcement on Monday, March 4.

The Pioneers remain ranked No. 9 in the Nike/U.S. Lacrosse Magazine Poll and No. 10 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association rankings.

LIU Post had its powerful offense slowed for the first time this season against the Setters. Sophomore William Snelders tallied three goals for the Pioneers and senior Connor Farrell posted his third-consecutive game with a 75-percent or better faceoff winning percentage (16-20) while collecting a game-high 14 ground balls.

The tough competition returns to Brookville on Saturday, March 9 when the Green and Gold host defending national champion and current No. 1/1 Merrimack College in its final game of its four-game homestand to open the season. Faceoff against the Warriors is slated for 2:30 p.m.
